Pre-screen Interview Questions

What are you most passionate about? (02/22/2007)

One of the things I am most passionate about is cooking. Having grown up in a retail cookware store and been around some amazing amateur chefs, cooking has become the thing that relaxes me, grounds me and allows me to be creative and serve others, at the same time.

What is the toughest problem you have had to solve? (02/22/2007)

One of the most recent problems that I've had to solve was how to pull together internal and external communications for 600 volunteer participants in a disaster simulation and exercise. StrongAngel III (www.strongangel3.net) was a disaster simulation and response demonstration that brought private industry, NGO's and all levels of government to San Diego, CA for five days of training, demonstrations and social networking. On the second day, I was volunteered to be the Public Information Officer (part of the ICS Command Staff in an emergency response) and proceeded to recruit (hijack?) a communications staff, set the operational mission and lead communications "sorties" in the San Diego community.

Describe your ideal work environment. (02/22/2007)

Entrepreneurial, supported and focused. My passions lead me to build, and the best way to do that is on a firm foundation with an established plan of action. I enjoy the freedom to be creative within an established vision or mission.

Describe a time when you have had to overcome a challenge. (02/22/2007)

One of my most recent challenges was arriving at AudienceCentral without a defined product, warm generation or sales infrastructure. Over the past three years, I was able to establish all three while ramping up sales over three fold.

What do you like most about your job? (02/22/2007)

The "aha" moment. When a potential customer or partner comes to the moment of understanding how the product or service that I represent will help them meet their goals faster, cheaper and/or easier.

How would your co-workers describe you? (02/22/2007)

Hard working, loyal and generous, are words that others have used to describe me. Visit http://www.linkedin.com/profile?viewProfile=&key=899512 for additional quotes and references.

What did you learn from your previous job? (02/22/2007)

Be selective about what "additional" hats you wear. In a startup environment, it can be very easy to be hijacked to additional projects that are outside of your responsibilities. Even these well-intentioned, important and possibly urgent projects can ultimately distract from your objective.
